2022.01.19 14:35 Frosty_Herb How do sid numbers work? --

For example I have 1001, 1003, 1050, 1098 then it turns into 1500s
Is there a max number of sid numbers for each sequence?
Is there a way to control the sid numbers in DRO

Anyone know of good accessories for this model? More specifically, a car cover that fits. Maybe even maintenance items to help clean the car and keep it nice and neat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Troubleshooting Help: **What is your parts list? [Consider formatting your parts list.]https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T3QNLP
Describe your problem. List any error messages and symptoms. Be descriptive.
Motherboard led is flashing CPU so either error or not reading.
List anything you've done in attempt to diagnose or fix the problem.
I made sure it was mounted and locked in. Power supply shows it's a cpu cable to the cpu slot.
Post relevant photos of build/parts here.

Provide any additional details you wish below.
From what I've seen there aren't any bent pins so I'm not too sure what the issue is. Hoping it's nothing that would need replacing.

2022.01.19 14:35 Poeskas Very different TBW values being reported for two brand-new m.2 drives in a RAID1 array

Hey, friends. I just installed two new Samsung 970 EVO Plus m.2 drives and put them into a RAID1 (mirror) array via my MSI bios, and I am noticing some strange stuff. The drives started out the same and had never been used before this, but the TBW values reported in HWiNFO and Crystaldiskinfo are already wildly different.
Screenshot: https://imgur.com/xYbuBhb
One drive is reporting 1753 GB total host writes and 2393 GB total host reads, while the other is reporting 3823 GB total host writes and 292 GB total host reads. Note that in both cases the total host writes added to the total host reads equal roughly the same amount (1753+2393=4146) vs (3823+293=4116). It's almost like the data is passing through one drive twice before it hits the second. Also note that I have two other brand-new SATA SSDs, also in an MSI bios RAID1 array, that are reporting normal values (the same on each). I should also note that I was forced to install Intel RST Drivers (Driver Version 18.36.1.1016) to even get windows to recognize the array, so RST might be the real issue.
I guess what I would like to know is if anyone has observed behavior like this in an MSI m.2 RAID1 or anything similar. Is this normal behavior? Kind of defeats the purpose of having a RAID1 setup if one drive racks up TBW twice as fast and will undoubtedly fail sooner :(. Anyways, I would appreciate any advice, thank you!

2022.01.19 14:35 SteverWever High CPU

After updating from 78 to 91 (firefox-esr (version 78.15.0esr-1~deb10u1) will be upgraded to version 91.5.0esr-1~deb10u1) on Debian 10 I'm getting occasional high cpu from some process called web extensions. It happens randomly and I can't kill it. Only restarting works. I don't know what is triggering it. I've tried disabling each extension and task manager only shows low usage.

2022.01.19 14:35 Silver_Pass In Person Learning

I'm curious to know what good arguments are behind going with in person learning over a hybrid way of learning like we had last semester. The only argument I am seeing is that "we paid for in person so we need to go in person", are there any actual valid arguments to back this up?
With peace and love, thanks

2022.01.19 14:35 bananna_roboto Linux: SSHD_Config: AllowUsers VS AllowGroups?

Greetings,

I'm hoping for some guidance on best/standard practice when it comes to provisioning SSH access via sshd_config

We're running into some nuances with SSHD config as we try to provision a service account to our Linux servers and have come across 3 scenarios.

There are currently 3 scenarios for SSH access in our environment due to different generations of images.
- Default Access
- AllowGroups based
- AllowUser Based

Coming from a Windows environment, I would think that providing SSH access via group membership would be ideal but what I'm seeing is that ANY AllowUser based access seems to effectively disable All group based access, and on some OS revisions requires users meet both allowuser AND allowgroups criteria if both are present.
Most ansible user provisioning scripts I've come across so far grant access via an AllowUsers entry in SSHD_Config

What is considered best and/or most common standard practice for SSHD_Config based provisoining?
