2022.01.24 10:47 frankscrazyfingers Should I splurge on a new bike?

TLDR: I’m inheriting a small amount of money - just enough to pay off a couple of debts and buy a bike. Do I follow through with the brand new amazing $7500 ebike I already put a $500 (refundable) deposit on, or just get a “regular” something used for under $5k, for now, and save for a killer emtb down the road?
I’m 33, my mom recently passed from pancreatic cancer, and so I’ll have some extra cash on hand. Pushing all sentiments aside, I’ll get to business.
With the monies I receive next week I‘ve already decided to buy a new bike. Finally. My 26” giant reign has all but exploded as I progressed to double black trails years ago. Lol. Poor old thing. I’ll be rebuilding it for my son as he’s now 13 and interested in riding again. I already have all the parts for that.
I will be taking a month off from work in April to drive to the northeast to bring some personal items to my moms sisters and a couple friends. Along the way I’ll visit my dad in NC, some (rock) climbing friends in Kentucky, and some more climbing and MTB’ing friends in Chattanooga. I’ll be riding as much as weather allows with whatever bike I decide upon.
I was SURE I would get a 27.5 light enduro/trail bike. Well, my friend gave me a free 29” ebike to demo and I simply can’t argue that I didn’t have the best fucking time of my life. I now want a mulleted ebike, for gods sake. (Rear tire tried gobbling me up mid-air a few times.) All my shit talking was for naught; I want that feeling again! So another friend called me later THAT DAY to say they just received a few Levo’s and that the shop owner said I can put just $500 down to hold it until I have full payment. So I did, without hesitation. (The other two models sold before hitting the floor, too.)
Now, sitting back and cooling off, I’m fretting over whether I made the right choice. I have some debt from college, but I’m nearly finished with a coding bootcamp and transitioning to software development in about 3 months time. I will be earning a significantly better income than I do now. So! Do I just say fuck it, pay off my car, a small amount of credit card debt, and buy the bike I really want (well, I really want the s-works, but that I’m definitely not getting right now); or, do I save some extra cash by purchasing a used bike (not an emtb) and waiting to buy an emtb down the road once I’m making a lot more money?
And don’t talk shit about whether or not I should EVER buy an ebike at all. This isn’t about my fitness or ability, as I am very fit and capable - that ebike was just WAY fun. Like, my first time ever riding a trail, fun.

2022.01.24 10:47 ediblebob Free Freddies Flowers bunch (worth £25)

Spending a lot of time at home? Freddie's Flowers have been doing a brilliant job of livening up my home. Honestly the best bouquet of flowers I've ever sent... and great for cheering up those people in your life.
It works like a subscription service, however if you use a referral code you can get your first bouquet for free.
once you've received it, just cancel and that's it! To cancel it's just a quick email or phone call.
Go to sign up: https://www.freddiesflowers.com/ follow through the instructions and on the card details page make sure you enter the offer code there once you've got your free box, cancel the subscription. which is dead easy to do. They send me a lot of offers to restart the flowers too
Codes: JoannaC80
Additionally, last time I had a lot of enquiries, so if you'd like me to share your code (so you get half price boxes) just send me your code and I can pass it on.
note: if you haven't received your free bunch yet, wait before sharing your code as sometimes this offer can go through before your free bunch

2022.01.24 10:47 coripat [CHAT] Best bang for your buck qsnap sizes?

I'm looking to purchase a qsnap for myself. I inherited a 6x6 qsnap which I've used once and really like the feel of the frame as well as how well it held the tension, but in general the patterns I work on are somewhere around the 8x8-12x12 range. I'm trying to figure out what the best option(s) are for my needs (i.e. I don't want to buy more than I realistically need).
So, what sizes would you recommend for 8x8 to 12x12 projects? Ideally I'd like to not have to move the piece around a lot in the frame. Do you think I could get away with just one frame, or do you think having a couple of different sizes would be better?

2022.01.24 10:47 gorillaprincess the good ole home tests

i genuinely don’t know which is worse: having the tests or not having any tests. on one hand you get complaints if you don’t have any in stock and then they continuously ask where the can get some. but god forbid if you tell them you have some in stock they gets pissed when they find out there’s a limit. had a lady call a bit ago and asked about them and when i told her there’s a limit of 2 (for our store at least idk about other stores) she did the loud huff and said really? that’s it? like yes ma’am, you unfortunately do have to share. but anyways, let’s make today a good day ig

2022.01.24 10:47 LittleMushroomMan69 HELP! Led question

Hello, I recently moved and need to relocate many of my plants indoors. After trying my best to research LEDs for hours I’m still kind of confused. Since I’m going to have to get multiple of them, does anyone have any lighting recommendations that won’t completely drain my wallet? All plants and lights are going in my room as well so the more aesthetically pleasing the better. Thank you!
